This month the 15th  & 16th holes has been going through a makeover. The tee boxes on 15 were re done and have been growing in nicely. The bunker on the right side has been pushed back another 20yards and an additional bunker was built on the left side. On 16 the tee box has been lowered to make the hole play to a truer yardage. Between the holes mounds were added similar to the ones between 10 & 18. The changes are really going to add to the aesthetics of the course.

The Men's Member-Member was held this past weekend, Saturday & Sunday, August 27th & 28th at Pembroke Pines Country Club. ‚Äč28 two-man teams competed in a 36 hole, team-combined Killer Quota format on what was a perfect two days of golfing weather. It was a star studded field with more than half of the field of players carrying a single-digit handicap. The final day concluded what was a tight race to the top of the leader board.

The start of the day showed promise for first round leaders Cal Bisson and Justin Wilk with a pair of eagles on the first hole netting them 16 points right out of the gate. The success on the 1st hole proved helpful but did not give them the win as they fell short of the charge from the team of Zack Buckman & and David Stickney, and to our eventual 2016 "P Cup" Champions Jim Dussault & Jack Perry. Congratulations gentlemen! Below are the final results for those who placed.

We had a great weekend here at Pembroke Pines! Saturday, May 7th was our first tournament of the season, the Opening Scramble. An outstanding 74-player field saw a beautiful sunny day on the links at the Pines. The team of Ricky Bergevin, Jr., Bill Hamilton, David Coutu, and Pat Serafin shot an incredible 62 to best the largest Opening Scramble field in Pembroke Pines history. Now, looking ahead to this week, the weatherman is calling for a blemmish-free weather report. This fortunate weather forecast will certainly assist our hard-working grounds staff in completing the tee box renovation project, set to be completed Friday, May 13th. Things are looking up here at Pembroke Pines! Call for a tee time this weekend!

Weekly Blog May 3rd

The weather for the week was spotty for golf with some rain continuing through the weekend Saturday, April 30th and Sunday, May 1st. Despite the rain we did have great participation for our golf shop games. Our game winner for Saturday's Pick 5 Poker Holes was Paul McCully & the Low Net game went to David Lucey with a net 72. Other notables include Bill Vermette & Brian Johnson at net 73. Justin Wilk took down the Sunday Stableford with 10 points. Well done gentlemen! Our spring aeration began at the golf course yesterday on Monday, May 1st and will continue through May 4th when the top dressing of seed and sand mix is applied. The weather forecast is calling for more rain over the next few days but the golf course could really use the hydration. See you soon at the course but in the meantime, look for next weeks blog!

UPDATE: The sod for the new tee boxes has just arrived!! Pictures coming soon..
